The Kitasenzoku Apartment in Ota, Japan is a design for all. When the building idea was conceptualized, Tokyo-based firm Tomoyuki Kurokawa Architects hoped to create a synergistic cycle for the local university, companies and the neighboring towns. Located centrally within the city, the building itself offers a sense of community for its residents and visitors. The open-concept lobby, office spaces and public balconies, for example, are inviting environments that encourage discussion and idea sharing among people.
What do you think, is this a built environment for the future?
