#SmallSpaceSaturday – Minimalist Morning

minimalistmorning

Happy Saturday morning! It’s that time of year where we are transitioning between winter and spring. After a lot of spring cleaning, we like the idea of keeping things clean and minimal.

Minimalism is defined by a sense of unclutteredness. This is achieved by both how you choose to space the elements in your life, and also about the colors, tones and textures that you choose to incorporate. This week’s minimalist morning look is combined by natural wood materials like walnut and neutral hues like charcoal and light grey.

When it comes to being so simple, the fine details of design tend to stand out as the subtle accents. Here, the clean tapered lines of the Hans Wegner inspired Shell Chair and the Eames inspired molded plywood coffee table provide that touch of noticeable elegance, as does the beautiful tufting of the Florence Knoll inspired love-seat. The role of material is also important in achieving this look. We love the loveseat’s rich Danish boucle wool, and the innovative molded plywood techniques observable on the Eames inspired table. We also can’t get enough admiring the Shell Chairs natural grains of the solid walnut. Have some ideas for your own home? Happy Spring to ya!

#SmallSpaceSaturday – Corner Dining

It’s Saturday! Every Saturday we feature inspiration for small spaces on the blog. This week we’ve created the perfect dining corner for any home, big or small.

corner dining

Corners are often underrated, forgotten or underutilized spaces; however, they are perfect for making space in limited sized rooms, such as a small space kitchen. By tucking the dining set into the corner, it not only makes way for other activity in the kitchen, but looks super adorable, too. This minimalist look, achieved by incorporating natural woods and simple white materials, keeps the look clean and tidy, complimenting this small space ideal.

#SmallSpaceSaturday – The Minimalist Workshop

smallspace1

It’s the time of year when daylight savings isn’t saving you any time when it comes to getting work done. The downfall of productivity could come at you from many angles, including from a sense of limited space – small working surface, desks cluttered with knick knacks, one too many stacks of papers, knees banging on table legs, etc.

Tackling this problem could be tricky. Maybe you only have space for a small office nook. Maybe your workspace is actually a multi-purpose guest room and needs to be rearranged yet again with the holidays coming up. Maybe you need accessible storage but loath the usual utilitarian filing cabinets.

Ready for a change this #SmallSpaceSaturday? The trick is to take away anything frivolous and start with a foundation of simple, clean-lined furniture. White surfaces look effortlessly neat, and including natural wood details throughout will make it still feel like home.
