#SmallSpaceSaturday – Scandinavian Living

scandi

This week on #SmallSpaceSaturday we dive into Scandinavian Living. Simple, yet cozy, is a good way to explain the original Danish term, hygge, which refers to this look and feeling popular in the cool Nordic region of the world. This is a perfect way to decorate your home during these colder winter months, but also a look that will stand the test of time. Neutral colors, like white and powder blue, paired with wood, are great for any season, cold or warm.

For this Scandinavian Living set, we feature the Loren Sofa. This is the newest addition to our modern Nordic collection, Kure, and reminds us of a billowy cloud a kin to the theme of connecting with nature. The Loren Sofa’s minimalist aesthetic pairs perfectly with the Dolf Dining Table and the Factory Table Lamp, both also from Kure.

French Bistro meets Nordic Design

Paris. When I think about Paris I think about the endless cafes that line the streets. Elegant ladies and gentlemen sit at little tables upon characteristic bistro chairs with coffee and a butter croissant chatting, musing and people-watching. There is the classic romantic atmosphere of the evening with twinkling lights and the Eiffel Tower; but I like to think of the crisp mornings, bright air and the uninterrupted space reminiscent of that lonely girl looking over the Seine River waiting for something to happen.

The Golden Age and the roaring twenties were lively and rich, and the romance of Paris has been forever idolized. Paris remains perhaps the most romantic ideal for the dreamers of the world, but how would a modern take on dreamers in Paris look like today? French Bistro meets Nordic Design takes the symbolic design of classic Parisian romance into a neutral state where white minimalism allows dreamers to dream bigger.

What do you think of our design idea for French Bistro meets Nordic Design? Would Ms. Zelda Fitzgerald enjoy our space?
